The Therapeutic Recreation Swim Specialist requires previous experience teaching swimming and water exercise to children with physical and mental disabilities. Applicants must have proven group leadership skills and the ability to do heavy lifting. We prefer applicants with WSI, CPR/First Aid certification, and sign language skills. Final applicant must have a TB test and criminal background check. Final applicants required to register with Selective Service must show proof of registration (pursuant to Section 2.2-2804, Code of Virginia). In accordance with applicable state and federal laws, the City will be conducting pre-employment drug testing on all positions. Successful testing results will be required before obtaining employment with the City. This is a temporary, seasonal position and will start on June 9, 2009, and ending July 17, 2009.
